Updated @ 12:11pm cdt for Rocket League correction
Day 1 of CECC has come and gone, and slowly the pools are starting to dwindle. Here’s a few highlights of the day:
SUPER SMASH BROTHERS ULTIMATE
In the Smash bracket, University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) showed that Dallas Smash could be dominate, thanks to the gameplay of Beastly Beastly is currently ranked #3 in Texas, and he proved why yesterday against Northwood. Northwood came into CECC ranked 3rd in the pools, with UTA ranked 6th.

Despite being in the underdogs in this case, Beastly led the team to victory 2-1, taking 19 of Northwood’s 36 stocks on his own. It was a dominating performance that will no doubt carry them forward through the winners brackets. They take on Winthrop today, a win moves them on to the Winners Finals.

We also know that the team the winner will play will be Fisher Northeast, who took down their counterparts Fisher East last night. Fisher East was #1 overall, with Fisher Northeast still coming in at a impressive 5th rank in the pools.
ROCKET LEAGUE
The top 8 in Rocket League have officially been set. Fisher College, Ball State, Maryville University, Nichols College, University of Akron, Indiana River State College, Boise State, and Lubbock Christian University are the teams moving on to play to fight for the championship.
CORRECTION: TOs were given the wrong school last night. Maryville University played Ball State University today. Ball State won 4-0 and held Maryville to just 1 goal the whole match-up.
