Day 2 of CECC 2025 in Arlington started with more Street Fighter 6 on the main stage, but focus shifted mid-day to pool play on the floor. Cumberland University from Lebanon, TN, started the day as the 8th seed in the Valorant Bracket. To move on to Day 3, they had to take on the top seeded St. Clair University from Windsor, ON Canada.
To the surprise of everyone, CU managed to take the upset to move on to Championship Sunday. We saw CU esports director Spencer Claypool after the match ended, and he was a combination of excited, relieved, and exhausted. CU ended the weekend Top 4 in Valorant.
