From January 29-February 1 2026, Call of Duty fans descended onto the campus of Southern Methodist University (SMU) for the first major of the 2026 Call of Duty League season. OpTic Texas fans showed up and showed out to cheer on their two-time reigning CDL champs, proving to the esports world that the Greenwall will always be there to support their squad. It came down to the finals between OpTic Texas and Paris Gentle Mates, but despite having the fans behind them, OpTic came up short in the end with the Gentle Mates plucking the first major from OpTic’s hands.
