Day 1 Fortnite Global Championship Seires in Fort Worth, TX is in the books and it’s been all domination from Exceed Gaming’s Peterbot and Pollo. The duo have been on fire this year, winning both the Major 2 and Major 3 North American Grand Finals, and placing 2nd at the Esports World Cup. They finished day 1 with back to back Victory Royale’s.
Currently sitting comfortably in first on the leader board at the end of day one with 442 points, Peterbot told Jake Lucky after game 6 that they plan to take the first match out of the gate tomorrow.
Rounding out the leaderboards after day 1 are ThomasHD and Queasy in 2nd with 295 points, but Vico1x and Flickzy are hot on their tails with 289 points.
The hometown crowd made themselves known any time Peterbot came up with big kills and 1v1 wins. However, fans were surprised that the other DFW favorite Clix was outside of the top 10. Currently, Clix and Veno are sitting at 13th place with 168 points. They gained 48 points in round four that had them sitting in the top 6, but that changed quickly when they were shut out of points in the last round of the day.

The day started with technical struggles. Matches were originally scheduled to start around 12:00 CT (19:00 CEST), but issues with the recent update delayed the start of the game by an hour and a half. Technical challenges can be a true test of mental strength for players, which may attribute to some of the rough starts for players like Clix and Bugha.

Day 2 can bring surprising changes. Points have a 1.5x multiplier, so players in the bottom half can find themselves sitting pretty in the standings by the end of the series.
The full leaderboard can be found here. Baring any further technical difficulties, Day 2 will start at 12:00 CT.
