Hello everyone! I know there’s been a bit of a gap in content, but that’s due to us ramping up our Capstone projects. With that said, I do have some content that I kept in my back pocket for a rainy day, including media coverage of Low Tier City, a look at LAN All Night, and a podcast with Bennette Newsome from Full Sail University. Expect to see those articles once the Capstone is finalized.
Speaking of which – January 29th is when the Capstone will be live. I can’t wait to share the stories of some amazing women in the esports industry and how they’re using their voices and actions to get more women and marginalized genders more involved in the esports scene.
The main reason for this blog post, however, is to announce that I’ve been nominated for three awards at the*gamehers awards!! I’m up for Rising Star, Journalist of the Year and Diversity Advocate of the Year!
I’m so incredibly humbled by these nominations. I advocated with the gaming community for the first two, but the third was a complete surprise! When I started this journey almost a year ago, I never thought that my articles would be making a difference. But I’ve met so many incredibly diverse people along the way, and I’m honored that I’ve been able to tell their stories. The Capstone is going to be a culmination of hard work, and I hope that the work represents the underrepresented well!
I’ll have more information when voting begins. But I want to thank everyone for their faith in me and this journey through not only grad school, but the esports world.
Stay tuned for more content!
